[VN] Citron @ InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort

Taystar ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

It is important where you consume your food. Generally speaking, people tend to be generous when at the origination of the dishes. Say, kimchi is assumed to be better in Korea, sushi is thought to be tastier in Japan, and satay should be true original in Indonesia. But I’m a bit skeptical on this thesis.

Our family’s first visit to Vietnam was somewhat a surprise for me. While my wife gave a hefty premium to the original vietnamese rice noodles, I was a bit doubtful. But, having my first dish on-the-grounds revealed a big surprise. It was indeed far different from what I have been eating elsewhere.

The complex taste of the Pho was layered throughout my experience as opposed to the dull mixed taste outside.  Rice noodle had amazing soft texture and not in anyway soggy, while the soup unveiled thick and deep taste. Meat was soft and juicy – just perfectly wedded to the overall soup. Spring rolls were crsipy outside and juicy, tender inside. Shrimp was generic, but enjoyable as well.

We went to this place for breakfast buffet and lunch during our stay. I loved their bacon, pho, french toast, and above all, quality kimchi 🙂

Citron is ranked first filtered as Vietnamese restaurants in Da Nang.
